Emporia by Graph Paper Press is a responsive Base child theme for online portfolios and blogs – photo blogs as well as other blogs.

Base is Graph Paper Press’ own theme framework. Base, and therefore Emporia, supports WordPress post formats allowing you to take advantage of Tumblr-like features.

A theme with a responsive design will adapt the presentation of the web page to the screen of the device used by the visitor; be it a desktop, a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone. Hence, such a theme responds to the size and orientation of the screen.

Graph Paper Press Emporia supports natively three WordPress 3 menus:

• Top Menu – right aligned at the top of the page
• Left Menu –  in the header, at the left of the logo
• Right Menu –  in the header, at the right of the logo

Graph Paper Press prefers to release its themes with minimalist designs and as lightweight as possible. That is why its themes install with the default WordPress widgets only. The Theme Options panel serves four vertical tabs and a reset button:

At the General Settings you can upload your logo and favicon and enable the ability to show mobile videos in iPhone, iPad and other devices with Flash disabled.

The same page includes a check box to indicate that you are using a third party SEO plugin. Checking this option will allow your SEO plugin to rewrite the titles of your posts and pages and allow you to craft an SEO-friendly site description.

The Colors and Fonts tab includes a field for the Google Font API and a checkbox in case you want to use the font sitewide. Emporia comes with five predefined color schemes Light, Dark, Earth, Clean, and Grunge. You can add your own CSS rules in the Custom CSS text box.

The Blog section lets you check the categories you want to appear in the blog feed.

The Layout tab gives you the means to enable or disable the sidebar, the home widget area, and the footer – you can have up to four widget areas in the footer.

A nice feature of Emporia is that you can enable a three column layout for posts and/or pages by checking the appropriate boxed at the Layout settings.

The homepage can either display:
